Wednesday, 30th.

This day was one continuous bustle, while I was in
New York; &, at a little after 2 I sat out, on my
journey to Phila. Between the Ferry & Newark, I met
El. Smith Jr. who was returning from Baltimore &
Phila, & who gave me a letter from C.B.B.—in which,
I am kindly solicited to take up my residence with him,
while I remain in Phila.
